Probably a lipoma: If there is no history  of trauma to that area, it is probably a benign lipoma or a cyst.  If it asymtomatic and is not growing, it should be seen by the same surgeon or internist in 4 to 6 months.  If it grows, it should be removed by total excision.

Many people have them and they do not require any intervention unless they are so large they are cosmetically unappealing or pressing on a nerve and causing pain. An examination by your provider can confirm this is the case. Very rarely is any additional testing needed to make this diagnosis.
