See your physician or physical therapy for further evaluation of the hand rotation. Inflammation: Some kind of an inflammation must be causing the pain, redness or tingling?, it may be tendinitis, a soft tissue injury, gout, fracture. Only way is to be examined. Meanwhile try aleve (naproxen) twice a day if not contraindicated.

Carpel tunnel?: You may have what we call carpel tunnel syndrome when the nerve is compressed by inflammation or anatomical structure.  The rising use of the hand on the keyboard or mouse with the computer may contribute to this problem. Try to modify your hand position and even try a wrist sprint  If not helpful, time to see doctor.

Be seen: I would encourage you to be seen.  While there are many possibilities that could represent minimal injuries, you may very well have ruptured one if the flexor tendons in your hand, which would require surgery to fix.  When a flexor tendon injury occurs, patients have pain and swelling in the palm and are unable to make a fist like you are describing.

The longer answer is that there are various sources of hand painn, ranging from the spine to the thoracic outlet region to nerve compression in the forearm or more commonly also the wrist.  The answer to the site of the problem can be determined by a careful neurologist possibly including electrical sudies of the nerves.  See your neurologist.

It is usually tendon/joint problems (arthritis, tendinitis, etc.) or nerve disease (carpal tunnel syndrome, etc.). Many of these conditions are treatable and the tests (blood work, x-rays, nerve conduction tests) are simple and helpful.
