Better to wait: Getting a Tattoo on your shoulder may create swelling in the lymph-nodes under your arm.   This may make it more difficult to identify the correct lump to remove.  It would be better to wait until after your surgery to get the tattoo.  Best wishes!

Nerve injury: This is the distribution for the ulnar nerve (4th and 5th fingers) and some of the radial (top of hand). You may want to see a neurologist or hand surgeon for guidance.

i had  shoulder replacement  surgery  5 years ago and it hurts more now than before. all in my neck, my back and down my arm, is this normal?

Not normal : Time to get back in too see your surgeon and discuss how you can determine the cause of your current symptoms. Just based on your description, i would consider a problem in your cervical spine with nerve irritation as a possible cause of your symptoms.

what are the chances i might need surgery for a pinched nerve that stopped causing pain nearly a year ago and only causes tingling down my mid arm to pinky area when i only shrug my shoulders? may it still be treated nonsurgically?

Surgery is last: Unlikely surgical.  There are stretches and strengthening exercises you can try first, for the neck, and upper extremities.  I recommend YIN YOGA to many patients for this very problem.  Try everything you can before moving forward with invasive care.  Second opinions are also recommended!

See below: Digits 4 and 5 involve ulnar nerve, most of shoulder girdle involves upper brachial plexus (c-5, 6), triceps radial nerve or c-7, but you may be experiencing lower plexus issues, caused by thoracic outlet syndrome.  Worth exploring further, as diagnosis could lead to successful treatment.

The : The most common pinched nerve a t the elbow is the ulnar nerve in cubital tunnel syndrome. While numbness in the little and ring finger, weakness in the intrinsic muscles of the hand and weakness in several flexor tendons occurs, pain is not commonly a primary symptom. Some who have medial epicondylitia may have pain, and can have concurrent ulnar nerve symptoms.

Anither type of nerve compression at the elbow is so called radial tunnel syndrome. At times radial tunnel is thought to present with similar findings of tennis elbow or lateral epicondylitis.

If you had some lateral or medial epiicndylitis pain could be a component.

Talk to an orthopedit or hand surgeon.

i have hidranitis supportiva for the past 7-8 years. i've gone through surgery for my right under armpit. now i suffer from swelling. any comments?

? lymphedema: I presume that you mean your arm is swollen.  If the surgery is extensive, the lymph channels can be injured  during the process.  Many times they will heal with time. --the condition is called lymphedema.  Compressive sleeves, and special massages help.
