Yes: Gum bleeding is the first sign of gingival inflammation and can be eliminated by thorough brushing of the area.  If the bleeding gum is due to food impaction, i.e. Food get caught in the area, check with your dentist to close any open contact between the teeth to eliminate food impaction concern.  Good oral hygiene follow through will ensure the healthy, none-bleeding gums.

Contact them: Your gums bleeding my be due to poor oral hygene i'm afraid to say, but not knowing the details of your mouth, if you are bleeding at every meal, you should have them check things out.

First its best to determine the cause of the recession which may include a bad bite., grinding , clenching and periodontal disease. There are procedures that may cover the exposed root called connective tissue grafts.

what causes  gum bleeding?

Inflammation: Bleeding gums is most often from improper hygiene.  When plaque bacteria are not completely cleaned from your teeth, the byproducts of their "living" on your teeth causes an inflammation in your gums and with inflammation comes increased blood flow.  There are some systemic diseases that can cause bleeding gums as well, but it's usually dental plaque.  Check with your dentist for an evaluation.
