recently ive had a bad reaction to acne medication and my scabs have healed but im left with shiny pink skin. ive been covering both areas with petroleum jelly and gauze. now that i have new skin do i leave them uncovered and stop using petroleum?

: New skin growth needs moisture and protection to mature. Keep using the petroleum jelly to avoid long term scars, and keep covered to avoid scratching or other trauma that can disrupt the new skin.

i got got 2 teeth removed 2 days ago and i was wondering what color should the area have, my gums have a light yellow color around the area , i followed every step post extraction took medication, applied pressure with gauze, applied ice outside etc.

Extractions: You did not mention any pain or swelling, and from what you described, you appear to be healing normally.

Review with MD: If fat or other tissue is trapped, the ch pieces are surgical correction or nerve blockade.  Because of your other medical problems, you need to review your options with   your primary physician

Skin glue: Just head back to the office if whoever put the material in and just have then deal with it. I am sure they would be happy to take it off for you.

my son fell and scraped his side, the neighbors put some gauze on it which is now being covered by a scab, is this harmful? the scab is getting really hard and the gauze is covered by the scab. he wont let me remove the gauze

It's : It's not necessarily harmful, just painful.  The big problem is trying to change the gauze since leaving a dirty, blood soaked gauze on the wound for days and days can lead to infection.  Put your son in the bath tub and let him soak the wound in warm water.  The water will soften the scab and make it easier and less painful to remove the gauze.  Afterwards, just clean the area with mild soap and water, apply an antibacterial ointment periodically and keep it covered for the next few days.  The best bandages to use are the ones that have a non-stick layer.  If the area becomes more painful, red or begins to drain, call your son's doctor.

just had a tooth pulled...when do i stop putting gauze on the area ? and what can. i eat ?

Tooth extraction: You can stop biting on the gauze once the bleeding stops. Do not have anything hot...Coffee, tea, soup, hot food...For 24 hours, but make sure you eat and drink. If it starts bleeding and you have no gauze, bite on a damp tea bag.
If you have concerns, call your dentist or surgeon.

i got a tooth pulled on the very back bottom at about 3:30. after how long until i can take the gauze out. ?

3 hours: Best is to keep biting firmly on the cotton for 3 hours and holding some ice against the outside of your cheek for those 3 hours.  After the 3 hours - no more cotton, no more ice, and  do not spit or rinse out.  Next, eat all the ice cream you want.

the circumcision gauze of my one month old is stuck. how should i get it out and are there any risks in it staying on?

Go back 2 doctor: Certain dressing may come off more easily when they are wet . Check w the surgeon who performed circ. @drhtay.

Accepted Answer

Probably: At this stage, most healing has taken place and the wound strength is fine.  You need a dressing only to absorb secretions if there are any, but if this is not happening, you can leave it uncovered.
