Degeneration: You are describing crepitation in your neck, which most likely is caused by degeneration (normal aging changes) in your cervical spine, with associated inflammation.  This is very common and nothing to worry about.  However, if your symptoms worsen or become more concerning, do see a physician.  The shoulder pain is likely regional radiating pain from your cervical spine.

Meniere's: Recommend consultation with otolaryngologist (ENT). This may represent Meniere's disease. Neck stiffnes and pain are commonly seen in the setting of Meniere's and that would explain your vestibular dysfunction (dizzy feeling) Could be cervical spinal stenosis depending on your history. Could be a double crush meaning symptoms are unrelated and caused by two separate things too.

Ankle arthritis: After any type of fracture or severe injuries there is the possibility of arthritis setting in. When you here or feel grinding this is a high likelihood that you have arthritis. I would recommend getting x-rays and possibly and MRI to see the extent of the damage and following up with a podiatrist trained in ankle surgery or an orthopedic surgeon to discuss some teatment options including surgery.

Neck pain: There may be inflammation around the nerves coming out of your spinal column in your cervical (neck) region.  There may even be a malalignment of the vertebrae.  Muscle relaxers, anti-inflammatories and other medications can help on a short term.  You can see a WELL QUALIFIED chiropractor (but be careful, it's your neck!).  Pain management and Orthopedic Spine doctors are specialists for this.

Possible arthritis : This may be due to osteoarthritis. In osteoarthritis a term call 'crepitus' often occurs. This is a noise that is due to the friction of bone. It is often due to arthritis and other causes are also possible . I would recommend you see your PCP and have them perform a physical exam where they can diagnose you. If it is arthritis weight loss and physical therapy can often help. Take care.

i have grinding noise when i move my neck from side to side it feels like one bone is rubbing in each other  and olso this makes me back pain !?

Common: Grinding and popping of joints is common as we get older. If you have a history of trauma to your neck or back,  some evaluation with xrays is needed to confirm no fractures. Our discs wear out over time, so most of us will have areas that are bone on bone. This doesn't have to be painful but can limit our ability to move as freely because the joints fuse together. Don't try to make things pop.

i've had a tmj disorder for several years and i've lately been experiencing pain & grinding noises on the left side of my jaw. hurts to chew. help!

TMJ: The best thing to do is to get assessed by a TMJ dentist/doctor/ They might be able to make small changes or offer a retainer to help.
