Acute?: If this is an acute attack I assume you are talking about then you are very limited. First of all if you  know you have gout then I hope you are managed by an internist or Reumatologist.  For an acute gout attack the options are Steroids, low dose and short term such as a Medrol (methylprednisolone) dose pak, Colcryss, and or possible Steroid injection. All of these options should only be administered by a doctor.

the clue may be : Gout. Gout is caused by a build up of uric acid. Its metabolism is related to sugar in the diet. I would suggest that he gets rid of all sugar in all its different forms. It might improve all his symptoms! if it does not work because it doesn't for everyone, you have lost nothng.

Not natural: Gout is the painful precipitation of uric acid crystals in various joints of the body the most famous being the great toe.  Management is by blocking synthesis of the uric acid by a pharmacological agent called allopurinol.  This is so effective, and safe, that i wonder why anyone would consider anything else.  No "natural" product comes close.

If untreated it is: If BP long term elevated above 135/85 it is dangerous for long term consequences as congestive heart failure , stroke., heart attack , kidney damage... In old age higher numbers may be permisible but not over 160. See doctor , watch sodium in diet ! Plant based food preferred and exercise . But exam by doc is imperative.
