Because your sugar: Goes up when you eat. This is the first defect noted in overweight people developing type 2 diabetes. You need diet, exercise and weight loss, a visit to your doctor, education, monitoring and almost certainly whatever medication your doctor thinks is appropriate.

Obesity and: insulin resistance can lead to fasting hyperglycemia that can drop with an after meal excess insulin surge. Talk w/your doctor, and it you've overweight, get on a diet and exercise regimen.  Also stop smoking.

Whoa: Your fasting glucose at 69 is lower than your post-prandial glucose at 92 -- is there a typo? I'd urge you not to self-diagnose the fad diagnosis "hypoglycemia", but to read up on post-prandial syndrome which is real, not a lab diagnosis, and responds best to getting help managing stress, staying physically fit, limiting caffeine, and perhaps carrying a snack (raisins are great).

Unusual: Your Insulin is appropriately suppressed for a low fasting blood sugar. It isn't what we usually see in patients with pre-diabetes, however.   What did the rest of your ogtt look like? Hba1c?

What keeps you ok: With a normal ogtt your 1 hour Insulin level is fine.  If your body needs a lower amount of Insulin to keep your blood sugar normal, that's great.

Lower glycemic index: To minimize the spike in blood sugar when eating fruit, a patient with dm might consider those with more fiber and less sugar- berries and cantaloupe, for example. Starchy and very sweet fruit like banana, mango will cause more of that spike. Better also to eat an apple with rather than w/o the peel. Eating the fruit rather than juice also provides more fiber and somewhat lower spike.

A1c lab cutoffs: Hemoglobin A1c is a measure of sugar on red blood cells.  Since red blood cells last 3 months, it is a 3 month moving average of blood sugar.

: There may be a problem with hyperglycemia, but the HbA1C should be used to first screen for Diabetes in non pregnant individuals.
Watch for signs of excessive thirst and urination, fatigue and shakiness. Avoid sugary beverages and sweets, and incorporate nuts and whole grains into your diet. Please follow up with your PCP.

On insulin?: Are you on insulin?  If you are not on insulin, then a fasting glucose of 63 could be normal in a younger person that is physically active.  If you are on Insulin and are diabetic, it is a little bit too low and your Insulin dose needs adjustment.
