Flat curve: That is what you see in people that have a flat glucose tolerance curve, you metabolize(burn) carbohydrates very efficiently.

Hi Fasting Glucose?: Those who have high fasting blood sugars can still have normal 2-hour post-prandial sugar. Such patients are still able to effectively mount an Insulin response to a glycemic challenge. Insulin resistance in the liver causes impaired fasting glucose. Insulin should keep fasting blood sugar in check, but when liver is very resistant, the fasting Insulin levels aren't enough to keep sugar normal.
