Medication effects: Lansoprazole is not for immediate relief of heartburn symptoms. It can have side effects, more so if taken for more than one year.
 It does not help Globus sensation which is likely due to stress causing Anxiety due to Relationship problems, breakups, work and finances.

Maybe silent reflux: In some people, whether with or without heartburn ("silent reflux") stomach contents with acid can regurgitate to your throat.  This causes laryngitis, an asthma-like picture, and may contribute to globus. Not all  gerd patients are so affected by this scenario, which is also known as LPR (laryngeal-pharyngeal reflux).

Not really : While it could be a symptom of GERD, other conditions exist that would present in similar fashion. Emperic trials of acid suppressant -few weeks and close follow up- advised. If symptoms still- an imaging modality is needed, i.e. Barium swallow, endoscopy with manometry, CT with Oral contrast of neck/chest and abdomen etc. Increase in the size of left atrium may cause globus sensation too. Lump in the throat: Feeling a lump in your throat w/out cause is often the description given to get this Dx. The most likely reason is anxiety for which you can seek psychotherapy. To get DIY relief, gently warm your throat w/ a cloth and then w/ posture straight, stretch neck back till looking up. Do slow tilting/rolling of head and gently massage the tightened muscles on neck sides lengthwise till they relax. Best!
