A member asked:

Saw ent who insisted my 2+month globus sensation problem is due to acid. i have gerd history but not currently having any acid issue. is that strange?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe silent reflux: In some people, whether with or without heartburn ("silent reflux") stomach contents with acid can regurgitate to your throat. This causes laryngitis, an asthma-like picture, and may contribute to globus. Not all gerd patients are so affected by this scenario, which is also known as LPR (laryngeal-pharyngeal reflux).
