: If you are menstruating regularly uterine polyps can clear spontaneously. Unless they are otherwise symptomatic there is no need for immediate intervention. Western medicine has taken no position on acupuncture but there appears to be minimal risk and many have reported positive results.

does having intercourse have an effect on hormones? also, can intercourse prevent or remove uterine polyps?

Accepted Answer

Yes and No: Intercourse affects many hormones, including endorphins that make you feel good. The exercise associated with the act also promotes healthful hormones. Sex hormones and oxytocin are obviously  affected and promote bonding. However sex does not affect polyps.
Have a healthy diet, exercise, drink plenty of water, have safe sex, and get HPV vaccine. Wish you good health!

ten days ago i got a hysteroscopy to removed uterine polyps... they put a balloon in my uterus to prevent adhesion. are orgasms safe? will they cause damage if ive had a couple since then? these are from personal stimulation not intercourse?

No risk: Orgasms are not dangerous and should not cause a complication.

Accepted Answer

Yes they can: But its important to talk to your obgyn about this. Almost universally, obgyns would recommend removal/direct biopsy of the polyp to make sure there is no cancerous lesion within the polyp. Polyps are not that uncommon in reproductive age women, and most of the time they are benign.

No: Just the opposite can occur as the high hormones of pregnancy can increase the growth of an endometrial polyp.

Regular cycles: If the diagnosis of disordered proliferative endometrium was preceded by a uterine curettage, the disordered endometrium should have been removed providing an opportunity for  an orderly cycle with the chance of pregnancy to commence.

Fibroids : Many women get pregnant with fibroids. Only rarely do they cause significant fertility problems. Ask your doctor if you are a candidate for a sonohysterogram. This would allow visualization of the mouse to determine if it could easily be removed. Your age of 39 is a bigger risk factor for your fertility than  a 1 cm fibroid.

Anything is possible: Mother nature has always found a way around "obstructions", however it will certainly be more difficult to get pregnant.

Females & Estrogen+: Over 40 females wth obesity, hypertension, and diabetes are prime candidates as well as individuals who ovulate infrequently and make extra estrogen which can lead to endometrial proliferation and polyps.

Accepted Answer

No: Exercise does not have any magical "powers of disappearance" for uterine polyps. They have to be surgically removed by a GYN MD.
