i threw up this morning and now i have a red/ purple blotchy face. is there a way to help get rid of it?

Fades: Vomiting and retching cause straining which in turn can affect the facial skin vessels to dilate which results in redness. This should gradually fade as long there are no further episodes of retching and vomiting. If there is continued nausea, drink flat room temperature ginger ale which relieves nausea.

Biggest question: The bigger question is Why do you vomit so much. The blotches are created from the intensity of the vomit. WHY are you vomiting?

Hives: Could be reaction to pressure of water called aquagenic urticaria. Ther is no cure but oral antihistamines prior to shower or  1 per cent Hydrocortisone cream after shower will help.

Hives: You are likely experiencing urticaria - or hives.  Sometimes, people will get hives due to an allergy, but sometimes it is due to something more physical - hot or cold water, pressure, vibration, stress, etc.  They classically come and nothing *needs* to happen, but you could try taking a loratadine or other anti-histamine 30" prior to showering to see if that helps reduce symptoms. Cholinergic variant?: In rosacea, the skin , especially that on the face, gets red when any rise in core body temperature (heat, stress etc) however itching is not expected.  Another condition known as cholinergic hives in which a person gets small itchy bumps plus redness with stress. This can usually be controlled by taking an antihistamine preferably prior to stressful situation as well as after.

Flushing : You are describing flushing which is separate from rosacea but can be seen in association with rosacea.
