Cholinergic variant?: In rosacea, the skin , especially that on the face, gets red when any rise in core body temperature (heat, stress etc) however itching is not expected. Another condition known as cholinergic hives in which a person gets small itchy bumps plus redness with stress. This can usually be controlled by taking an antihistamine preferably prior to stressful situation as well as after.
