Many causes: yes acid reflux can cause a white tongue but it as also accompanied by other symptoms like heartburn.  white tongue can be cause also by medications, mouth bacteria or yeast and bad oral hygiene.

everytime i get white tongue cause either by gerd or thrush i notice i get swollen lymph nodes on the side of chest that is sore ,is that gerd related?

No: Thrush and GERDS represent an inflammatory process that rarely  causes the inflammation to involve region nodes.  If this were true for the tongue leukoplakia one would see submaxillary nodal involvement which rarely if ever happens  and GERDS involving the esophagus if presenting with nodal involvement would cause  mediatstinal and not chest wall problems. Have LMD check the so called nodes.

Tooth erosion : Gerd melts teeth with a huge increase in decay activity. Often referred to as indigestion, is often recommended to be treated with Tums (calcium carbonate) on a symptomatic basis. Beware: each tablet contains cavity causing sucrose. Stomach acid burns the esophagus throat and tongue. These burns can, over time, convert to cancerous lesions. Seek  gastroenterologist eval--especially if teeth are worn or chipping.

These tissues  are not prepared for this aggressive irritant (burning) and get damaged  even sometimes ulcerated. Take care or your reflux  by a gastro enterologist. Some home remedies that will cut  the acidity, will help alleviate symptoms. Good hygiene is mandatory.

This should help:: Tongue anatomy can vary from person to person, even members of the same family.  Use a tongue scraper daily and make sure you brush and floss after meals.  See you dentist to make sure you have no cavities and your gums are healthy. Your physician can treat you for gerd.  Do everything right and follow directions and it should help.

: The tastes you described can be from both the GERD and from your carious lesions. Have your dentist restore your dentist restore your teeth and have your physician discuss treatment options for your GERD.

Get professional help.  See endocrinologist for medication to control thyroid function.  See gastroenterologist for rx to control gerd.  See your gp or a nutritionist if lab tests show that you truly have a vitamin deficiency.  Multiple problems requiring multiple solutions...Get help from the pros...You can't do this by yourself.

while eating boxed stroganoff i felt a sore rise up on back side of tongue could this be from my gerd like acids in my mouth an the food irritated it?

It is possible: It is possible. Check with your GI specialist. The acid could cause a sore in the mouth.
