Heart and Lung: General anesthesia risks are basically thouse related to the heart and lung.  The irritation of the heart with a general anesthetic as well as the lung and risk of intubation and ventilation correctly are the main issues.  The risk to the heart is the chemical irritation of the medication as well as the fluid needed to support the blood pressure once the anesthetic relaxes the body.
