Maybe not acid...: Related. Could be irritants such as alcohol, reflux of bile into stomach, effects of aspirin, other. Talk to md about other causes and possible rx, including med change, use of other rx, e.g. Sucralfate, which works by a different mechanism than Prilosec and other ppi meds.

told gastritis antrum ,by endoscopy. gi said stop certain meds, those caused it. i did. now endoscopy shows gastritis all over stomach. now what to do?

You will need acid b: You will need acid blockers.  Consider asking your GI to place you on these  - like prilosec, prevacid, (lansoprazole) etc. You will ned a  GI workup to decide on the reason you have this

Continue h pylori : Treatment.  You may also add Pepcid (famotidine) complete.  No alcohol!

Ok: The best way to know for sure is have an endoscopy. Stomach cancer it's very rare  age 35 in a non-smoker non-Alcoholic especially with no family history of stomach cancer

Define gastritis: Gastritis is an inflammation of the mucosa of the stomach, of which there are MANY causes (please refer to prior HealthTap answers on the subject). The timing &amp; duration of the condition may differentiate between acute gastritis &amp; chronic gastritis. What you are describing is a histologic term based on the microscopic appearance of your biopsy taken from the lining at the end of your stomach.

Gastritis: PPI should help gastritis and gerd but sometimes the dose has to be increased. I would also follow a bland,low fat diet,avoid caffeine,nicotine and alcohol as well. If symptoms persist or worsen, a gastroenterologist is best qualified to evaluate,treat, and advise you.

Define "gastritis": Gastro means stomach; -itis means inflammation (so "gastritis" means an irritated stomach lining). The "antrum" is the last part of the stomach. "chronic" means longstanding, but is also a term applied both to endoscopic appearance of stomach inflammation as well as what the biopsies of your stomach tell us.

hi i would like to know if there is a permanent cure for mild chronic inactive gastritis in the antrum of my stomach. would this heal completely?

Permanent cure?: Having a condition well-managed or resolved would be more realistic. In the case of "mild chronic inactive gastritis" you do not have active irritation of the stomach lining, but only signs that you did have mild chronic gastritis. The stomach lining should continue to heal unless you have H.pylori (likely checked with gastric biopsy), but this can be treated if found. Acid blockers  also help.
