A member asked:

Mild chronic inactive gastritis in antrum/stomach, what does this mean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Define gastritis: Gastritis is an inflammation of the mucosa of the stomach, of which there are MANY causes (please refer to prior HealthTap answers on the subject). The timing & duration of the condition may differentiate between acute gastritis & chronic gastritis. What you are describing is a histologic term based on the microscopic appearance of your biopsy taken from the lining at the end of your stomach.
