hi, actually, i had jaundice in december of last year, and after recovering from it, severe gas pain started everynight...so i consulted ?

Is it really gas...?: Abdominal pain is never normal, but you have not indicated the intensity, duration, or circumstances of your symptoms.  Lots of things cause abdominal pain--see my earlier healthtap answers on the subject please.  If pain is severe (as you indicate) or worsening, don't delay in seeking evaluation & getting treated. The history of jaundice may have nothing or everything to do with your symptoms.

seeking second opinion, incidentally found out i have common bile duct stone but it is asymptomatic. had pain last year but that was more like from gas, no other symptoms and no jaundice. not sure since when the stone is here, do i need to remove it?

: Yes, a stone in common bile duct, whether symptomatic or asymptomatic, should be removed because it may cause complication(s) later on such as bile duct obstruction, ascending cholangitis , and pancreatitis, etc.

3m old girl has gas with dark grey/green stool with smelly urine that smells like poo. prolonged jaundice at birth, abnormal lft at 8 weeks.

Mgt: I would suggest that they ask their pediatrician for the results of her newborn screening tests. The tests screen for a number of conditions. There may be several causes and among these include hepatitis, alpha one antitrypsin deficiency, hypothyroidism.

is 1.7mg/dl bilirubin a jaundice? i test liver function test and my bilirubin is 1.7mg/dl. my other sgpt and sgot is normal. i went hospital of nausea, diarrhoea and excessive gas in stomach and belching?

Accepted Answer

: Jaundice refers to a yellow coloration best seen over the whites of the eyes (scleral icterus).  Associated increased bilirubin can cause dark urine and changes in stool color. Needs eval: Your symptoms need to be thoroughly evaluated with stool studies and imaging. Among others, inflammatory bowel disease or a malabsorption syndrome become possible.

No such thing: Masturbation doesn't cause "gas trouble". Any such symptoms must be psychological in origin -- for example, if masturbation causes guile or anxiety.

my dad is 55yrs he gets gas trouble frequently and has high bp weight is 75kg height 5.7" he never exercises please help?

Gas: Gas problems most often are caused by air swallowing. Your dad should be evaluated and treated if he has high blood pressure. Should be on diet exercise program also.

RUQ abdominal pain: These might be symptoms of gallbladder disease.  See your physician to order an ultrasound to check it out.  Avoid fatty food dairy products and beens.

my mom has high b.p n diabetes.she's having gas trouble too what kind of fruits and veggies can she have can she eat meat n pasta.

Non-starchy veggies: Ask her doctor for referral to diabetic educator and/or nutritionist. She should have a glucometer to measure her body's response to different foods which will tell her exactly how high her sugars get after eating specific amount of specific food. Try to avoid starchy vegetables like regular potatoes. Sweet potatoes & yams should be fine. Brightly or darkly colored veggies are great. Fruit w/skin.
