i just had an abdominal mri, with and w/o contrast to check a liver lesion that was picked up on ultrasound.  it came back as a hemangiona.  would this type mri also show other issues, such as cancers of the liver, gallbladder and pancreas?

how do i know the difference between gallbladder pain and pancreas pain?

Gallstones may cause: ...both organs to inflame, but gallbladder pain is slowly crescendo, centered in RUQ, with radiation to right shoulder blade and around the right side to back WHEREAS pancreas pain is more mid-center of the abdomen, constant, and projects pain straight thru to the back. Of course, there's exceptions to every case. Lab tests are very helpful in pointing to which of these two structures is/are sick.

Ultrasound: In cases like this your primary care physician should review the images with the radiologist who interpreted the studies and determine the differential diagnoses, recommendations for additional studies like liver biopsy,mri,etc  and suggestions for referrals to appropriate specialists like gastroenterologist or hepatologist.

what's the treatment for a gallbladder sludge and inflamed pancreas? did the cyst in my liver come from the gallbladder sludge?

May not be related: What was the cause of your pancreatitis? Gallbladder sludge can be seen in anyone that has been ill & not eating. Sludge may just be a side effect of the pain and illness of the pancreatitis. The liver cyst is also unrelated and just an insignificant finding on radiology study. Medical care for the pancreatitis and repeat gallbladder ultrasound in a few months.

i have raised serum amylase ranging from 116 to 129 with slight epigastric pain. uss pancreas gallbladder and liver appeared normal. cholesterol 7.1?

Relax: About 1% of folks run a high amylase for no real reason ("macroamylasemia", etc.) If imaging is normal, you don't have pancreatitis. If these are your only problems, this line of investigation is unlikely to be profitable and you'll do best simply to be thankful and get followed. Best wishes.

Mostly normal: The "mild splenomegaly" means a mildly enlarged spleen, which could just be normal for you. There are a huge number of reasons the spleen can be mildly enlarged and without other symptoms I wouldn't worry about it. The rest of the US sounds normal based on what you have typed.

would a ct with contrast diagnose a gallbladder or pancrease (pancrelipase) issue? or are ultrasounds possibly an endoscopy better at finding problems?

US for GB, CT panc: CT is much better for pancreas evaluation because overlying bowel gas limits US visualization in most patients. Because 90% of gallstones are made of cholesterol, they don't show up on CT.  Ultrasound is moderately better at detecting acute cholecystitis.  CT is much better for pancreatitis or pancreatis. Routine fiber optic endoscopy has no role.  Endoscopic US is not a screening exam.
