Pain, nausea, vomit: The classic symptoms of gallbladder pain are right upper abdominal pain which radiates to the upper back or shoulder. May occur after meals or awake you from sleep. May be associated with nausea and/or vomiting. Usually crampy type pain. May be in mid upper stomach as well.

IT won't help: If gallstones don't bother you, nothing needs to be done. If you're having biliary colic and fatty food intolerance, you need to have the gb removed. Lecithin will have no benefit in either situation. Good luck.

Not per se: Prilosec is an antacid, it decreases the formation of acid and reduces symptoms such as reflux or heartburn.  Gallstones cause symptoms when they block the egress of bile from the gallbladder, sometimes the symptoms overlap, but they are fundamentally different problems.  Also some patients will have both reflux and gallstones, in which case Prilosec and other antacids may relieve reflux symptoms.

POSSIBLY: If you have asymptomatic gallstones, you have no dietary restrictions.  If you have symptomatic gallstones (ruq pain, nausea, and/or bloating after eating) you should maintain a low fat diet to minimize your symptoms.  Good luck.

Diet : You want to avoid stimulating the gall bladder, which is what oil, grease, and fat in foods do.  So, avoid fatty meals if your gallstones are flaring up.   But, if this is a frequent problem, the best course would be to have your gallbladder removed to prevent trouble (like pancreatitis and hepatitis).  I don't put much stock in certain meds that claim to "dissolve" gallstones.

Not necessarily: Gallstones are not specifically related to diet, but some research indicates possible relation to cholesterol. Sometimes gallstone condition can be hereditary, like more common in south and central american indian heritage.

Please clarify: Gallstones do not form or go to the liver.  The best test to check for gallstones in the gallbladder is an ultrasound.  The best test to check for gallstones in the bile duct is an MRI of the bile duct (mrcp); alternatively, a GI doctor can access the bile duct thru the mouth by endoscopy (ercp); if a bile duct stone is present, (s)he can remove it at the same time.

Avoid fatty foods: Fats from the meal will cause the gallbladder to contract which will cause pain.  See your doctor to evaluate whether or not you truly have gallstones and discuss how to treat it.

Can be serious...: If not treated promptly. Gallstones in a common bike duct are usually associated with significant abdominal pain & sometimes vomiting. Jaundice will develop if not treated promptly, or pancreatitis or possible infection. Usually a gastroenterologist will remove the stones with an endoscopy procedure (ercp).
