Yes: Fluticasone is a nasal steroid spray while Benadryl (diphenhydramine) is a traditional antihistamine.  There is no drug interactions to worry about.  For allergy treatment, consider a new generation antihistamine such as claritin, zyrtec or Allegra as they have less side effects than benadryl (diphenhydramine).

i've got rush on my face due to the new cosmetic. what can i use to get rid off it? i did take benadryl (diphenhydramine) pill and used fluticasone propionate cream, 0.005%

If : If you feel the rash on your face is due to a new cosmetic, i would recommend that you stop the product and use otc Hydrocortisone cream.  I would consider a visit to a dermatologist who can help make sure the rash is not due to other common facial rashes like seborrheic dermatitis, rosacea, and perioral/perinasal dermatitis.  If you are truly allergic (as opposed to irritated) by the cosmetic, allergy patch testing can help determine the allergen responsible for your rash.

i have tried fluticasone and mometasone furoate nasal spray for 2-3 months many times. but no relief at all in my post nasal drip. whereas antihistamine like cetrizine/loratadine relieves symptoms immediately in a day or so. why my body is like that?

Why? : Everyone is different.  Go to uptodate.com and read about steroid and antihistamines for post nasal drip etc. then discuss with your team. The body is complex and every one is different. Mostly because our genes are different.

: No. The minimal or lack of response in your nasal membranes does not indicate how your other tissues will respond. These meds are created to mimic natural steroids made by the human body as a stress response/membrane stabilizer. Over the past 5 decades of product development they have become a standard form of therapy because they work.

You need help!: Sounds like a delayed immune response to the mold exposure. History of asthma? You may benefit from inhaled medications to decrease the congestion/cough, such as Advair or otherwise. For the upper airways symptoms, Zyrtec and Flonase could help, though Flonase will take a couple of days to kick in. Nasal saline rinses could offer a quick fix too.

Very different: Nasal steroids such as fluticasone work best for nasal congestion and sinus inflammation, while antihistamines such as fexofenadine work better for itching and sneezing. Typically, if you're going to use only one medication, you'll do better with fluticasone than fexofenadine.

See below: Flonase (fluticasone propionate) & Allegra (fexofenadine) may be safely (& often are) used together to treat allergies. Allegra is a non-sedating antihistamine, & Flonase is a nasally inhaled corticosteroid (for reducing inflammation & stabilizing nasal passage cells).

Yes : There are numerous articles comparing antihistamines to nasal steroid sprays.  Results uniformly favor nasal steroid sprays for control of nasal allergy symptoms, particularly congestion.  The sprays have to be used regularly to be maximally effective, however.

does fluticasone propionate/salmeterol diskus have to be discarded 1 month after opening the foil pouch? i still have over 50 doses left and it is due to be discarded in 2 weeks. i know i will not use the 50 doses in 2 weeks?

: Unfortunately, the instruction is discard 30 days after first use, likely due to loss of effectiveness after the foil has been opened. What's a waste, isn't it? Take care.
