Allergic reaction: If the rash is itchy it could be an allergic reaction to surgical prep, to the bandaging tape or antibiotic (if) applied to wound area.
If the rash is painful it could be an infection of some type.

Yes: If the rash is in the same pattern and same location where tape is or was located, then yes. Some people get reactions to tape. See or ask  your surgeon.

had laparoscopic sugery one week ago.  developing new petechiae spots over abdomen.  is that normal after surgery or something to be concerned about?

Petichiae: Petechia are non-blanching, circumscribed, flat, small (less than 3mm) dermal hemorrhagic spot. Causes usually associated with platelet dysfunction, but pressure can be a possibility too. This would not be typical problem associated with laparoscopic surgery. You should let your provider know about the problem.

i don't think my surgeon removed any co2 from my abdomen after surgery. is there a way to tell if he left it all in or not?

I would not worry: Co2 is used because it is rapidly absorbed by the body and removed.  When the instruments are removed at the end of the case - the majority co2 ruses out.  The small amount that is left int will be reabsorbed within a few hours.

hello! my husband is having robotic laparoscopic surgery on a small hernia in his upper abdomen. can he fly 10 days after surgery? if not, why? thanks

Here are some...: As reported, your hubby had uneventful minimally invasive abdominal hernia repair - not specified; congratulation! Clinically and generally speaking, he should have no reason for avoiding flight 10 days after such procedure. But, for sake of safety, asking the surgeon, who knew the best detail and nature of the procedure, is the most reasonable thing to do. Best wishes to his health...

See your doctor: As unfortunately the symptoms you describe could be related to so many different issues that can't be accurately determined without more information, the chance to examine you and possible testing.  I would strongly encourage you to seek help in person when any symptoms is "severe".

Reflux: You may GERD. Try using an antacid until you see your doctor

: You need to ask your UK Dr and tell them the heat you selected for the Chilli curry. Probably no problem unless you vomited or retched while or after eating.  Your Dr will know more about what to expect in men like you they have operated on for this who also eat chilli curry of unknown heat.  I do not.

Common: The incidence of incisional hernias is quite variable depending upon the operation (midline incisions have the highest risk) and the health of the patient.  Factors that increase the risk include obesity, smoking, wound infections, malnutrition, heavy lifting, etc.  Following a midline incision, hernia rates have been published as low as 5% and as high as 20% incidence.
