Accepted Answer

Yes: T-wave abnormalities are common with potassium disorders. A U-wave is also commonly seen with low potassium. This is a small hump right after the T-wave.

had an ecg and was wonderinf if results are normal. pr interval=166 qrsd interval=89 qt interval=378 qtcb=374 pr=74 qrs=93 t-wave=119 i'm 32 years of age. my last ecg(a year ago) my pr, qrs, and t-wave were all significantly lower?

: Those parameters change with heart rate so if your heart rate was higher last year then all noted parameters should be shorter. By the way, those parameters with the current EKG are within normal limits. Take care.

: Please discuss this EKG findings with your cardiologist who knows you the best. This 12 lead EKG is quite abnormal and significant coronary heart disease is definitely present. Good luck.

42m, been using a galaxy watch 5 ecg function, rarely works for me (does for everyone else tried on). when i do get a reading (always sinus rhythm) the qrs and t waves are always small, the t wave is often similar size to the qrs, is this ok? thanks?

: This is not the same as getting a formal EKG so you cannot draw any conclusions from the relative size of the waves. A regular EKG takes measurements from multiple perspectives, each of which will show the wave forms slightly differently.

what does poor r wave progression on the precordial leads and inferior non specific t wave abnormalities mean? i went into er with chest pains and nausea, thats what came up on ecg?

: Poor R wave progression could be due to lead placement or a prior cardiac event-like a heart attack. Non-specific T-wave abnormalities means the t-waves don’t look perfect and it could also be due to lead placement when the EKG was obtained. These findings are very non-specific and do not mean you were having a heart attack at the time it was obtained. If these pains continue, see a cardiologist.

: Mild sinus bradycardia is common, and not to be concerned.   A number of athletes are found to have the same as well.

: Review the EKG with a cardiologist...I would be happy to interpret the EKG if you would post it.  However, the ultimate conclusion of the significance of the slight bradycardia and nonspecific changes should be made by a physician who takes a careful medical history and examines you.

74 years type 2 dm for past 20 years. last week chest pain while walking alone and got better when taking rest. ecg and echo normal .trop i score 9.2.tmt positive with downsloping st segment and t wave inversion reversed in recovery phase.diagnosis?

: It sounds like angina. The person may need a stress test to see what happens with exercise and, if ischemia is present, will need treatment. This person should be seeing a cardiologist. Best of luck to you!

just had an ekg for surgery clearance and it says t waves are borderline low voltage. is that normal? what could that mean. i do have a loop recorder implanted and have to get an ultrasound done?

: Borderline low voltage T waves is a very nonspecific EKG finding especially if the rest of the tracing was within normal limits with normal voltage of the QRS complexes. If these also had low voltage, various conditions such as infiltrating heart muscle pathology, emphysema, obesity, pericardial fluid accumulation can be causes. Your MD will decide if a repeat EKG or other testing is advisable

friend, 42yo f, passed out 7/21 for unclear reasons and taken to er. dx of syncope. i thought her lip dropped and was worried about tia. they say unlikely but no tests. her ekg came back w/ nonspecific t wave abnormalities. any need to be concerned?

: Syncope and TIA can have similar signs and symptoms so she should follow up with her doctor to see if any further work-up is needed. She can see a cardiologist as well as a neurologist to have more testing done to be certain that no further treatment is needed. An emergency evaluation is the first step in making a diagnosis but follow-up is definitely needed. Good luck!
