what could be the cause of bulging blue veins in my fingers. they don't hurt they just feel swollen?

Blue vein: Varicocele (dilated tortuous blood vessel), could be due to some pressure or minor trauma on the finger. It is benign condition. It may go away or can be excised.
Usually varicocele appears on the leg due to prolonged standing or other reason.

Probably not: With age, we lose good fat that lies just under the skin (subcutaneous fat) makes skin appear more supple & 'pads' other structures like bones, tendons, & vessels. Make sure diet's healthy, w protein & healthy fat. Staying well hydrated & moisturizing skin can help. Avoid tobacco, excessive alcohol & sun exposure, steroids. Check thyroid. Appreciate the experience & character your hands reflect!

in the last 6 months the veins in my hands have started bulging almost all the time especially when they are hanging down at my sides . they get huge and didn't use too do this at all. also feeling like fingers are swollen with water?

: You probably used your arms more in your daily activities than previously. The engorged veins are a result of more blood flow to the arms and hands so the returned blood is heavier and makes the veins congested. When the veins are congested, capillaries (tiny vessels) are also dilated and fluid leaks out more so the fingers are puffier. Use pillows to raise your arms up during sleep may help.

Vein: Veins dilate in association with fluid status. The size of a vein will change in relation to total body fluid, activity of extremity or position of extremity. Pressure on proximal part of vein.  As long as the vein does not stay distended should not worry.  However if red, tender and firm get checked.

CHF: One possible cause of your symptoms could be congestive heart failure. When you exert yourself with this condition the heart can&#x27;t keep up with the demand and you get short of breath. You may notice signs of increased pressure in the veins if the right side of the heart is affected. If you have this problem you need medical treatment for it.

Concerned: I would be worried about a bloodclot on the affected side. If both sides affected then look for pelvic problem. Not normal for large bulging veins in 12 yo. Have evaluation by specialist.

Gravity : Depends where they are. Lift your arms above your head if they're on your hands or rest your legs on an Ottoman with a cushion if they're on your legs. If there is any pain, discomfort, or bleeding please notify your physician.  Gravity works against us as we age.

Enlarged: Bulging veins are enlarged . This occurs often through exercise or exertion. Or in disease states when they become dilated due to insufficiency or back flow [ eg varicose veins are the result of venous insufficiency] or overloaded from increased flow [much less common].  Sometime veins may only appear to bulge when people are have low body fat or vein high muscle tone.

It Depends: Big or Prominently visible veins can be a sign of having low body fat or being physically fit. There are no problems with that type of" bulging "veins.  Enlarged Ropey veins on the legs are called varicose veins and they do have some health consequences. Varicose veins do not circulate blood properly, can cause symptoms and increased the risk for bleeding , blood clots and leg ulcers.
