i'm an offensive lineman that wants to prevent hand injury by taping my  hands and fingers. how should i tape them to get the most benefit?

Tape is usually : Applied one of two ways. ( first make sure its not too tight and its better to have a trainer do it if available and the tape should not roll or be too tight aor be too sticky) either single tape to a joint on one digit or buddy tape to keep an injured finger next to another. If you buddy  tape often you avoid the joints and pad the area lightly between the fingers, iif you single tape a figure 8.

i had a hand injury over a month ago and cannot get my middle finger down all the way when i form a fist and it still hurts. i was told the injury is over a1 pulley and mri will not show what is wrong, will need exploratory surgery. is this true?

: I do not know about the hand but I feel it is ludicrous to attempt a surgery going in “ blind” without films . Even if they show “nothing” that will help the surgery. It can help prepare for the unexpected. The more information you can establish the better the result I believe

I would see: A hand specialist. You may be suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome. Try icing, where you have pain and an anti-inflammatory.

It could be broken: I personally have had broken hand bones and didn't know it until later when i had an x-ray.  It may be a good idea to see a doctor for an x-ray, just to be sure.

i hurt my hand the other day and every since then ive had numbness in between my pointer and middle finger. if i run my fingers over the area on top my my hand in between the knuckles i feel something start to twitch. what could this be?

Hand Injury: Seems like a nerve may have been injured or getting pinched. Without examining and knowing the nature of injury it is difficult to give further insight. Would recommend going to an urgent care and getting it looked at to get a better opinion.

: Gentle Ice Compress for 5 to 10 minutes at a time, OTC pain medication of choice - Tylenol, Aleve, Ibuprofen... Rest and avoid using it until seen tomorrow for appropriate medical management

Some fingertip injuries with exposed bone and soft tissue injury at the same level can be treated with dressing changes with good results but it is under the supervision of a qualified surgeon.
