Good question: A visit to the marbled halls of the blue cross building in pittsburgh may help to answer that question.  Our health care system is expensive for many reasons which have nothing to do with the high quality of medical care that the insurance covers.  That being said, the quality of care needs to be maintained while we institute policies that reduce its cost.

County clinic.: For free or low cost care, i'd visit a county clinic or a federally qualified health center (fqhc).  Fqhcs are available throughout the U.S. And often serve low income or people without insurance.  Also, many primary care offices take cash, so you don't necessarily need insurance to see a doctor.  Take care.

FQHC or d. school: You should get checked out.  Try to see if there's a dental school in your area - lots of times they have free clinics for people in your situation.  Also there are entities called federally qualified health centers that are all throughout the U.S.  These often provide dental services for uninsured people on a "sliding-scale" fee basis. Miscarriage: There is no specific treatment for miscarriage. Some bleeding during early pregnancy is common. If it is persistent, it may result in miscarriage and there is nothing that doctors can do to prevent it. Thus, while i realize that you are probably very anxious, the best thing is to just wait and see what happens. If the bleeding persists, you will know it is a miscarriage with a blood test (hcg).

Because each insurance company has hundreds and perhaps thousands of plans it offers depending on contracts with individuals or their employers.
