Yes: Dopplers do not produce a radiation exposure like X-rays. Dopplers are more like microphones - they detect sounds. Everyday use should be safe but you should consider only using it as directed by a physician. Frequent use may cause more worry than benefit.

Probably not: Standard dopplers 10-12 weeks. Your dates may be   incorrect ..Could you be 11 weeks?

i bought a fetal doppler i know the difference in sounds. fetal hr is fast like a train, mine is slow. whooshing is placenta. but i'm sure wondering can it cause placenta abrubtion? i used it 3 times today 10-20 mins at a time?

See below: Dopplers do not cause abruptions...   high blood pressure, previous uterine surgery, trauma, and cocaine are among reasons for abruption.   And this is why we as obgyns NEVER suggest you do your own testing.  So see your obgyn immediately and do not use the Doppler it will only cause you anxiety

Normal change: it is absolutely normal for there to be variation in the heart rate as well as a gradual decrease as the fetus matures!  Congrats and try not to over think it!

Unlikely an issue: The past studies of doppler use have shown no negative effects.If repeated studies take up your time and take you away from other productive activities, i would consider it more a negative to your lifestyle than a problem for baby. This pregnancy will pass and there are many more issues to deal with than watching baby float around in the womb.

Probably yes: Depending on the position of the baby, you might have listen from one side of the pelvis or another.

At 14 weeks, it would be highly unlikely that you would have an ectopic pregnancy.

i have a fetal doppler that detected a heartbeat of 130ish... i tested pos & neg and i am bleeding brown/red... i think i am 9wks, am i miscarrying?

Recommend evaluation: Unable to fully evaluate in this limited format.  Recommend evaluation with vital signs, exam, lab testing and ultrasound.
If symptoms associated with increased bleeding, fever,shortness of breath, dizziness then go to ER

No: One cannot hear a placenta if there is no placenta. A placenta is part of a pregnancy. If there is no pregnancy, there is no placenta.
