Vague: Are your describing and inguinal or umbilical hernia ????
The smaller the hernia the greater the chance of incarceration of bowel, infarction and gangrene.

Most hernias: Occur spontaneously with no cause or reason. Sometimes hernias are associated with repetitive heavy lifting, obesity or past  pregnancy. Most common location of hernias are the groins or umbilical region. The cause of one type of hernia can be an incisionsl hernia caused by previous surgery.

Not usually: Though the reflux associated with some hernias will often feel like it is difficult to breathe.  Weight on the other hand can cause breathing problems and worsen the hiatal hernia symptoms.  Losing weight and increasing activity may help both of your problems.  Still, if they are not improving or worsening you should see an md.

Hernia vs diastasis: The abdominal wall is built like a layer cake, with skin, fat, muscle and a tough lining called fascia.  A hernia is a hole or weakness in the muscle and fascia.  A diastasis is different.  All the layers are ok, but the muscle doesn't come together in the middle.  Most people don't need to have a diastasis repaired and they're not dangerous because there's no hole for things to get stuck in.

Cystocoele : Cystocoele with prolapse is when the wall of the vagina that is toward the bladder is stretched out and the bladder sags toward it sometimes to the point where it feels like a lump sticking out of the vagina.When that happens you would have urinary problems like leakage with coughing. In women the most common hernia in that region is usually a femoral hernia that would protrude to the side of the pubic bone. The surgery that is done for cystocele (american spelling) is called a suspension. It is done using various materials to create a sling for the neck of the bladder. If you do have a femoral hernia  that may be repaired at the same time.
You would ideally see a uro-gynecologist.Gynecologists also do suspensions and anterior repairs.

Hiatal Hernia: Hiatal hernias can come and go, get better (especially with weight loss), and can get worse (with time and age, weight gain, increased abdominal pressure).  They can cause acid reflux, feeling full early, chest pain and even feeling short of breath).    Good luck.

No: Vigorous sexual actvity could aggravate a preexisting hernia but i doubt it would cause one.  I have been doing hernia surgery since 1970 and no one has yet to claim that is how the hernia occurred.

Should not: The typical indirect groin hernia does not involve any of the structures from the reproductive system. Its repair would stay away from those structures. You need to discuss the specifics of your case with your treating docs. This is not something to lose sleep over.
