extreme fatigue after getting my blood drawn.  is it just in my head?

No: Many people have this problem.  It can be due to low iron stores-ferritin.  Getting blood drawn decreases ferritin stores and can increase fatigue. Take iron if this is the problem.  Others find that taking d ribose-a simple sugar only your body produces can help with this fatigue, this is great if low ferritin is not your problem.

blood drawn tuesday morning.  doc ordered several tests for fatigue and abd pain, all came back except for the cbc w/diff & platelet.  why delay??

Manual diff: Diff may be done by the machine and those results are available along with other results. If your doctor ordered a manual diff, that requires additional time and may be the reason for the delay.

had blood drawn at er and my wbc was 14 and i'm to get it retested. my face is flushed and i'm so tired and dizzy. i don't feel sick though otherwise ?

Infection: If your WBC is elevated it usually means an underlying infective process is going on. Why were you in ER if you were feeling well. If you are flushed then you may be having a fever as well. The doctors would interpret the WBC in relation to your other blood tests and symptoms

i got blood drawn today at school and both my arms hurt. i also feel weak and tired. can i go to work from 4 to 11?

Work and tired: Blood draws usually don't amount to much blood loss per se and I doubt the weakness and fatigue you are feeling is due to this. If you do not feel well in general though, perhaps you should stay home from work.

13 yo son w extreme fatigue, overweight, chills, joint pain etc. cbc showed wbc 11.8, abso neutro 7.1, abso lymph 3.6, and abso mono 0.9. also tsh  7.250. i'm worried about leukemia. no other signs of inf at time of blood draw. shld this b concerning?

Leukemia!: why should it be? your son's doctor is doing a good job, pertinent labs were ordered, and results are fine, may be TSH is on the higher side, but it can be followed, and hypothyroidism could be the problem and can manifest this way, however, clinical judgement is important, trust your doctor, your son will be fine, wish you all the best

How much?: A routine blood draw for testing should not cause one to be tired. If you donated blood at a blood bank then the tiredness may last a day or so.

i had a blood test last month & it showed that the normal range for calcium is 8.9-10.3. my level was at 8.9 is that considered deficient since its just barely on the right level? would this level be the cause for some extreme tiredness some days?

: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, while you are unlikely to be deficient you may wish to take Vitamin D3, 2000 units/day and over the counter calcium supplement for long term bone health.

i have had left axis deviation all my life. now too last ecg show incomplete right block or left fascicular block. are they related? are they related to lefrt axis deviation. what can cause them? other symptoms tiredness and blood pressure 160/110?

: It is important to control your BP and to keep a daily log at least twice daily. Reduce salt intake, have a renal panel and urinalysis test with an evaluation by your physician soon. Your fatigue may be related to cardiac conditions and an ECHO may be indicated. 
Please follow up with a physician soon. Watch for dizziness, chest pain and imbalance.

excessive yawning all day, heavy eyelids, feeling of tiredness and less energy. wake up with dry mouth in am daily for last 10 yrs. can't study due to foggy brain. blood workup is normal. what should i do? its affecting my daily life?

Sleep evaluation : Avoid bright light, loud sound before bedtime. Drink warm milk and shower pre bedtime. Avoid smoke, dust, mold and rinse nasal passages with saline. No fluids two hours pre bedtime.

i am a 64 year old male who has been experiencing anemia issues for over 2 years. taking oral iron meds does not appear to be helping. my hemacrit was less than 8 with last blood work 2 weeks ago. fatigue level is extreme?

Accepted Answer

: Work up is needed as not all anemias are iron deficient, there are numerous other causes. Even if believed to be through iron deficiency work up for bleeding sources as well as possible malabsorptive states, such as celiac, for example, should be considered.
