Saline intake aldo: Well depends on how much saline you are intaking. If you mean infusion IV or a very large salt meal aldo will go down within minutes unless you have a problem like an adrenal adenoma making too much aldo (and HTN). or a renal artery stenosis causing HBP. I can think of no reason it would go up unless the before and after saline infusion bloods were mixed up.

Testosterone aldo: When testosterone is given as a supplement in men with "low T", fluid retention is often noted as a side effect.  The cause of this fluid retention is complex, and not just related to aldosterone levels.   In a normal male with normal testosterone, this is not really a factor.

how much does inspra raise blood potassium? can it be used with klor-con and losartan. ? ive always had severe hypokalemia due to aldosterone. it is at 4.3 with this regiment. would adding inspra be safe or make it go too high?

: Inspra is an aldosterone antagonist so you can take this medication for normalizing potassium without the hassle of taking potassium supplement. And you may not need Losartan at all if hypertension is due to hyperaldosteronism. I always use either spironolactone (aldactone) or eplerenone (inspra) for low K and high BP due to high aldosterone in the first place. Good luck.

HYPERALDOSTERONISM: Yes, you can cut the tablet in half to 12.5 mg. then titrate the dose up till you get better control of symptoms and BP. It may need to go 100-400mg

Aldosterone: High levels of potassium or low blood pressure signal the body to raise aldosterone levels which in turn retains salt and water and causes excretion of potassium thereby elevating blood pressure. High salt levels and water retention wouldn't increase aldosterone levels but should reduce them. Dysregulation of aldosterone is a potential cause of hypertension.

If absent one would get hypotensive and volume depleted and potassium could rise dangerously and in excess it causes arterial hypertension and low potassium as well as long term damage to arteries and myocardium.
