Eye floaters: I am not aware that intracranial pathology plays any role in the production of vitreous floaters. Your ophthalmologist is best qualified to answer your question,however.

is papilloedema/an abnormal eye exam an accurate test for intracranial hypertension? how likely is it for someone with normal eye exam and no papilloedema to have intracranial hypertension? thank you?

: Papilledema can be an indicator of IIH, however the definitive diagnosis is a normal MRI followed by a lumbar puncture with a high opening pressure.  It is possible to have IIH without papilledema.  I suggest you see a neurologist for a definitive diagnosis.

last christmas i started to see bended lines, the eye doc found nothing. it is not macular degeneration. it have not gotten worse and not any better. what can it be? i got idiopatich intracranial hypertension, for 10 years, but my vision is perfect.?

Yes ;ClassicMigraine: 18 mmhg is a bit high for an initial opening pressure; nl typically considered in the 7-15 range. The symptoms you describe are classic migraine (vascular) headache ; be aware these usually have major buried human/emotional underpinnings, though usually treated by most physicians (ineffectively  ; with complications) as just a body problem.

i am an iih patient. i want to know how can i prevent vission loss ? and why some women with intracranial hypertension have had head operations ?

Decrease pressure: IIH is a syndrome of increased intracranial pressure (ICP). Often moderate (about 6-10% of body weight) weight loss will resolve IIH. IIH can also be cause by medications (minocycline, vitamin A, steroids) and if present, these should be discontinued. You should have close follow-up with an ophthalmologist experienced in IIH. Head operations are shunts to decrease ICP. Diamox (acetazolamide) also can lower ICP.

ICH: Please  go to the ER this AM STAT , as you need a CT scan and treatment .  They can either do LP, start meds (diamox- but if it is recurring that likely will not work) or  place a shunt.  But go to ER now

Not really!: benign intracranial hypertension (pseudo tumor ) can cause headaches and the most important side effect is visual problems when treatments such as drugs or even shunts may be necessary

All over: It's all over but you can't diagnose ich by the location of a headache since it's non-specific and much more common causes produce headaches in the same location.

Should eval trauma: The diagnosis of Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension always suggests patients should be careful, particularly when having headaches and changes in vision.  While the trauma seems to have caused the symptoms, it would still be wise to be evaluated to ensure it's not masking any potential aggravation of the IIH.

Of course: Many disease states are not static and have periods of relative remission and exacerbation.  There can be waves of increase pressure associated with visual loss (obscurational events), but sometimes may feel relatively back to normal.  Use of a medicine such as Diamox, smooths out the ups and downs, and controls many of the symptoms.
