A member asked:

Is papilloedema/an abnormal eye exam an accurate test for intracranial hypertension? how likely is it for someone with normal eye exam and no papilloedema to have intracranial hypertension? thank you?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Papilledema can be an indicator of IIH, however the definitive diagnosis is a normal MRI followed by a lumbar puncture with a high opening pressure. It is possible to have IIH without papilledema. I suggest you see a neurologist for a definitive diagnosis.
