No: I see very few cases if any in children. All that i've treated were in adults, primarily young ones.

Skin mites: Scabies is a skin infection caused by a human mite. The mite burrows into the skin and lays eggs which causes severe itching.   There can be a rash which usually looks like small pimples.  Common areas to find the rash are between the fingers and toes and along the belt-line.

Accepted Answer

Scabies: If she has been treated x 2, with the second treatment 7-14 days apart, chances are she is not infectious. She got from close contact with an infected person either in the family or friends or another one.

can i leave my kids with my parents who were diagnosed with scabies? my parents were diagnosed today and are taking the pills this afternoon, was supposed to go out of town and was going to leave my children with said parents.  do i need to change my plan

what is an effective over-the-counter treatment for scabies? my children got scabies and im not sure i have them but i want to treat for them to be safe. i don't have insurance or a doctor and can't afford a prescription.

There : There is a cream called Elimite (permethrin) that you can buy over the counter. Follow the detailed instructions on the packaging. Also make sure to clean the sheets and all other bedding in very hot water.

Scabies: Scabies is a skin infection caused by a mite called sarcoptes scabiei.  It can  cause intense itching which worsens at night. If you check your skin you can see little burrows made by small blisters and bumps in skin folds. Places you might find them include your armpits, inner elbows, between your fingers, on your feet, around the buttocks, genitalia and breasts.

Scabies: Scabies in people is cause by a mite called sacroptes scabieivar. Hominis. Scabies looks like lines of burrows on skin made with little mounds or blisters. They cause itching which is often worse at night. Although they can be anywhere on skin they like going into skin folds (waistline, axilla, breasts, between fingers, feet, wrists, knees,  elbows, buttocks ; genitalia. You need to treat it.

Some basics: The scabies mite is passed by direct contact. We see it pass from kid to kid sometimes if they play in close proximity. Wrestlers, bed partners, etc. have the type of contact that would lead to transfer. The activities you cite are unlikely if ever to transfer this mite. Diagnosis is based on a direct exam.

Relax: Even if the person you love is crawling with scabies, that's no reason not to snuggle up and be happy together. You can both be treated at the same time. Congratulations on your relationship  and best wishes to you both.

do i needed to steam clean my couch if i being treated for suspected scabies? i know not using it for a few days would be the best but thats not really an option. any other suggestions for how to treat it? thanks?

: If you truly have scabies { particular itching and rash }, you should be treated along with all of your current contacts in your home as well as washing thoroughly all your bedding and clothing .This would include your couch and other areas of exposure in your home. Also, the topical  treatment should be applied head to toes for 24 hrs to be of the most benefit.  Those exposed treated at same time
