how'd i get polyps in my ear that keep me from hearing well?

Ear infection: You most likely have chronic otitis media, which is a chronic middle ear infection.

You need to see an otolaryngology professional and obtain a hearing test and a ct scan.

You may need surgery.

At the least, you will need to be on dry ear precautions.  Antibiotic ear drops and antibiotics and steroids by mouth are also used.

Could be: Could be a foreign body, polyp, cholesteotoma,  osteoma of the ear canal, other entity, ect. You should see an ent.

my doc wants to pop a aural polyp in my ear and give me ear drops. is this safe to not surgical remove? and pop it?

Yes it is: Most likely you are having a cyst or informed hair root not a polyp. Generally it is safe and could release any pain or infection if you are having any

Sinus infection &amp; po: Sinus infection and polyps is fairly common.  You have to treat the infection and the Lily's at the same time.  We usually give oral steroids, topical nasal steroids and antibiotics for this problem at the same time.  You will need a thorough nasal exam with a scope to look for other polyps and then can start the treatment.  See an ENT doctor for this in the near future . Good luck and feel better

understanding hpv.advised can lay dormant. recent bite of tongue(bruxism) expected diagnosis after excision was polyp. it was squamous papilloma. can't understand the hpv cause,celibate 20+yrs. smear no hpv. do i have hpv? dr said no follow up needed?

: It may be one of the many nonsexually transmitted HPV types, as are common hand and foot warts. Or maybe sexually transmitted: all sexually active persons acquire HPV, and as you already understand, HPV can be dormant for many years and then reactivate. If your doctor is an otolaryngologist or oral medicine specialist, s/he probably is very knowledgeable and you can trust the no follow-up advice.

have salivary/parotid sarcoidosis now have polyp/canker sores under tongue and side of tongue in back.hurts down neck and ear also.can this be sarcoid?

Not likely: Sarcoid in the mouth, uncommon, presents as papules. You may need something for aphthous stomatitis.

6 weeks post septoplasty/sinus widening/polyps removed. normal to feel inner ear popping/tickly sinuses, swelling after  zpack/prednisone? worried!

That is normal: You are experiencing some ear eustachian tube congestion causing the ear popping . The tickly sensation in the sinuses is probably normal healing with some dryness. Make sure you are irrigating regularly with a neti pot or some other sinus irrigation system. If you are extremely concerned, see your surgeon again or call for advice.

Sinusitis : Surgery is sometimes needed... See a rhinologist (an ENT sub-specialist) to sort out your options. In my practice around 15% of patients with your symptoms ultimately require surgery. Allergy , gerd , aspirin, sub-optimal medical treatment can all be to blame. If significant issues are not treated polyps can rapidly recur. I saw a patient who had undergone 63 surgeries for polyps - aspirin!

Consult allergist: There are many reasons but none likely related to CMV infection in childhood. Given your problem, you may need  an allergy -immunology evaluation plus a CT sinus scan. ENT intervention may also be needed if anatomic obstruction of the sinus openings is found.

i'm 36 y/o & have had 4 or 5 inner ear infections this year. my doc has suggested i get grommets. what are the pros & cons. also have nasal polyps with about 5 ops over a 15 year period?

Inner ear infection!: you probably meant 'middle ear infections' and Grommet tubes are meant to ventilate /drain the middle ears in case the Eustachian tubes are blocked. You also have nasal polyps that were surgically removed 5 x before, all this points towards chronic inflammation, ? allergic, in your upper airways, kindly see an allergist, if you have access to one, Grommets will just be temporizing, good luck
