See below: Ovarian cysts are common. Many women are not symptomatic from the cysts. Many cysts resolve on their own. Treatment options may include watchful waiting, birth control pills and or surgery, depending on the symptoms, severity of symptoms and appearnces of the cyst on ultrasound or if the cyst has been growing or persisting over a few menstrual cycles.

A hormone disorder: Pcos is a syndrome or disorder in which women have 2 of 3 of the following: irregular cycles, multi-cystic ovaries, or excess androgens ("male" hormone levels). Pcos has no specific cause but it is associated with obesity, some heredity, and Insulin resistance (also seen in type 2 diabetes). Treatment can help with ovulation, fertility and cosmetics. my period cramps feel exactly like my contractions did when i was in labor i've been told by the hospital twice, when they did ct scans for an unrelated issue, that i had a cyst like structure on my ovary what could be the cause?

Period cramps ?: Painful cramps with menstruation may be caused by heavier bleeding, which produces blood clots. The clots may not pass through the cervix easily, and the uterus will contract more strongly to eject them, causing pain similar to labor.  The ovarian cyst should be evaluated by your gyn physician, as some cysts need biopsy to be certain of their constituency.

LLQ pain: Sharp pain in that area can be from pelvic organ and structures or from the decending portion of the colon as seen in acute diverticulitis or inflammatory bowel disease. An inguinal hernia or adhesions from prior surgery are other causes. Pregnancy test.: I would do a home pregnancy test.
If you're not able to do so then please go to a clinic to have this done. We would want to make sure you aren't having an ectopic pregnancy, though normally very rare.
