Too many to list!: There are many medications used in anesthesia: some induce sleep, some relieve pain, some relax muscles, etc. That's why it takes 4 years of medical school and then 4 years of post-medical school training to become a physician who specializes in anesthesiology. We also use medications to control blood pressure, or treat asthma or heart conditions during surgery. It's a complicated field!

The most common amnesics used are propofol, benzodiazepines, and anesthesia vapors.  Analgesics would be narcotics and NSAIDs.  The most commonly used relaxant is rocuronium

Opioids and other medications may be used to supplement the volatile anesthetic during general anesthesia.

Several: There are several meds used for anesthesia. Induction agents: propofol, etomidate.  Anxiolytics: versed. Narcotics: fentanyl, morphine. Volatiles: sevoflurane, desflurane.  These are just a few of many that can be used.

I : I know you feel apprehensive about telling your doctors the truth about your drug use.  Have you failed a pain contract?  It is unfair to hand the risk of your health over to a doctor, knowing that you have not shared important medical information. This is crucial.   
     You are part of the medical team. As the patient it is your responsibility to give the anesthesiologist an accurate account of what you have been taking.

does pain killer and muscle relaxer medications react to anesthesia after 24 hours of back surgery? i took hydrocodine/acetaminophen 5-325 tb & tizanidine on the second day after surgery then after 1 hour i felt dizzy and fainted twice?

: The effect of the anesthesia should be fully gone by 24 hrs.  The post-op meds may have exacerbated a blood pressure drop which caused syncope, and the effect of the two is additive.  Discuss this with your doctor, so that meds can be properly adjusted for your needs.
