Drying, irritating: Epiduo can be effective but irritating and very expensive. Over $300 for 1 tube! Both benzoyl peroxide and adapalene are much less costly if used separately. Even cheaper if tretinoin instead of adapalene with similar result.  Benzoyl peroxide is drying. Adapalene is especially irritating during first few weeks, so it is often started at just 2 or 3 times a week. The skin tolerates it better after

: It seems as though you have Inflammatory Acne. Treatment should be either an oral or topical antibiotic along with an appropriate acne wash and a topical retinoid. See a dermatologist for evaluation and the proper treatment.

Use real Rx: Try retinoic acid instead. Most of these products named for pretty flowers, fruits and trees are placebos. If you have acne, the retinoic acid should help as well. A dermatologist can give you more advice

Decrease the freq-: uncy of use. Try using every other day and remember a pea size covers your entire cheek so basically three peas cover your entire face, more is not better. If you have to try using a moisturizer with vitamin B

No: There may be a yellow tinge to the skin where the epiduo is applied that is temporary and should resolve quickly. There should not be any burning with epiduo so stop the use of the medication and contact yiur doctor soon. I hope this helps and you feel better soon.

Yes, especially the : Yes, especially the first 2wks of use.  Try using it every other day for the first two weeks and then switch over to daily use.   It will delay the acne fighting effect but it will decrease the irritation.  Use sunscreen (SPF &gt;50),hypoallergenic/non-comadogenic fragrance-free products &amp; cleansers. Avoid other acne products if the burning increases and don't forget to follow up with your doctor.

Epiduo causes drying: Epiduo is a combo of two medicines--adapalene + benzoyl peroxide both of which can cause drying of the skin where the cream/lotion is used. Use sparingly--more is not better, just more drying. If too irritating, stop for few days, then use 1x/day for awhile. Dryness should improve. If not, consult doc. Good luck.

Ask Dr. for options: In general, when a person gets over-irritated skin or overly-dry skin after using acne medications, she can decrease or stop the acne medication (if they are over-the-counter or if her doctor says that is ok to do) and then try some hydrocortisone cream on the irritated areas for just a few days. Avoiding too much sun exposure on irritated skin is also helpful.

i got an epiduo, it ripped some of the skin off beneath and above my eyebrow and it looks really bad, how long will it take to heal?

7-10 days: If the skin loss is superficial.  If the rip is deeper, then it could take 2 weeks or so.
