Bacillus cereus: bacterium is found on raw rice including strains which can cause nausea and vomiting. Also, lectin, a protein, is one of the top 10 causes of food poisoning and is found on uncooked rice and beans. Over the long term, lectins are associated with the development of celiac disease, diabetes and colorectal cancer. Not sure if benefits exceed risks of a "few grains" a day. Stay well:)

not really: Raw rice contains the same amount of calories and nutrition as do the equivalent quantity of cooked rice.  Raw rice lacks the flavor and texture and you should increase fluid intake to hydrate the rice if this is your preferred way to eat rice.  I wonder why you would try it this way however?

Check for anemia: Raw rice is harder to digest than cooked rice. If one chews and chews to grind the raw rice into a flour slurry, it should digest better. If one has no gurgly tummy symptoms, then the raw rice is not likely causing any problems. One might end up with TMJ pain due to all that chewing. One should also be checked for anemia, which can cause cravings to chew on things. There exist some raw rice myths.

Raw Rice: simply CANNOT be DIGESTED and has no NUTRITIONAL value thus I must ask WHY???? are you eating it?? It's a bit like eating clay...or dirt......

Not a good idea: Eating anything that is meant to be cooked raw increases chances of infection as if such agents were present they would not be killed without cooking. Rice absorbs fluid and if you eat too much raw rice you can get stomach discomfort as the rice expands in size when it is submitted to fluid contents of your intestinal area and fluid that you drink. Eating raw rice is a bad idea.

Rice gains weight.: Rice are carbohydrates.  If you eat them and don't burn them through physical activity, they are stored as fat.  You gain weight.  If you exercise and eat a well balanced diet, there should be no significant weight gain.  Not cooking it, does not save you from gaining the weight, acids in the stomach break through the rice so the body can absorb it's calories and if fortified, nutrients.

Possible deficit: This is a strange dietary habit.  Is it a personal preference or do you feel compelled to eat raw rice?  This might be a form of Pica, which is often a sign of some kind of nutrient deficiency.  You might consider seeking medical care to evaluate for deficiency in iron and other micronutrients.
