Bacillus cereus: bacterium is found on raw rice including strains which can cause nausea and vomiting. Also, lectin, a protein, is one of the top 10 causes of food poisoning and is found on uncooked rice and beans. Over the long term, lectins are associated with the development of celiac disease, diabetes and colorectal cancer. Not sure if benefits exceed risks of a "few grains" a day. Stay well:)
