It's in the math: One must consume fewer calories than he uses or he will not lose weight. Even if he eats apparently small amounts of food, and exercises a lot, the laws of nature do not change... meaning there will not be weight loss until the number of calories taken in to his body is less than the number of calories burned up each day. Math always holds true for normal, healthy people without hormonal problems.

Absolutely NOT!: Of a all the components that contribute to the unhealthy American lifestyle, fast food is one of the most pernicious. I advise healthy diet, regular exercise, NO FAST FOOD, not processed (white) grains, minimal processed foods, and minimal sugar (and no high fructose corn syrup). It&#x27;s easier than it sounds once you commit to it. Bottom line...NO FAST FOOD!

Healthy choices: Make healthy choices- try to decrease your fat intake, to less than 30% of your diet, choose lean meats. Try to have 5-7 servings of fruits and vegetables a day. Start with small steps that you are able to do, what ever works for you and is enjoyable and not a task. I would recommend finding some frsh fruit and incorporating it into your diet. After a few weeks, maybe add more vegetables.

If you have tried multiple diets and regain the weight and your bmi is above 35 with either diabetes or hypertension then a surgical intervention may be a reasonable option. 
Join a gym and meet with a nutritionist that will help you figure out a meaningful way of changing your eating habits. Remember if you drink regular soda or juice, this can add 300 calories or more a day. If a person stores 4000 calories extra that will mean a 1 pound weight gain. Start drinking more water and as a compromise a little diet soda.
