my ear has been making a thumping noise when i hiccup or burp for over a week. what is causing it and treatment?

Eustac. tube: This is probably just the eustac tube equalizing the pressure.
It is similar to the process you use to ease the pressure when flying.

Unless you have pain, or consistent problems, this should disappear.

i burp so much yet mostly at night although do not ear after 5pm.  what is causing this?

Burping: Since you stop ingesting food after 5pm your stomach should be empty by 7pm or so. Either you're swallowing air by making yourself belch or you have very  delayed emptying of your stomach, or possibly from eating very fatty or greasy foods. You could also have gall bladder disease. If you can't control the symptoms, consult a gastroenterologist for diagnosis and treatment.

Hearing heartbeat: You may just be hearing your heartbeat, but would suggest you see an ent.

Possible congestion: Possible inner ear congestion can sometimes cause alight "thumping, " as it could be your pulse being heard in your affected ear.  If it persists, see a dr. For an eval of the ear affected.  Good luck.

Ear infection vs TMJ: If this never happened before and is new I would think an outer or middle ear infection with inflamed vessels on your ear drum-- especially if associated with decreased hearing on that side.  If it is a problem that comes and goes I would think TMJ.  Other things would be less common.  See your doctor if not getting better.

Tinnitis yes,but?: I am not sure exactly what thumping includes. Tinnitus has been described many ways and thumping probably 
has been one of them. Ear wringing or constant sounds
whistling are other common terms. If the person never had ear thumping before taking wellbutrin (bupropion) then it certainly is possible. Discuss it further with dr. Their are many other causes many easily treated like ear wax.

Thumping in ear: There is a small artery that runs through the "middle" ear and that is what you might be hearing. Go see an ENT and have him take a look see.

Extra beats: it is not uncommon for a young person to have extra beats.  These are beats that come from upper or lower chamber of the heart and do not go through the normal stop signals of the heart. They can be increased in number with caffeine, stress, lack of sleep. They are usually not harmful but should be documented by your MD. Usually clear when exercising.
