recently i have been having ear pain (right) no injury, not always. what are causes? i do sometimes get beating noises. what about ear pain? cancer?

Not cancer: Common things are common. The most common origin of ear pain is a stretch on the eardrum caused by pressure or canal pain caused by internal swelling. Pressure on the eardrum can be triggered by infection pushing it out, or fluid drawing it in. Have a doc look at it to decide. Treatment if needed depends on the cause.

See doctor: As I suggested earlier, if there is a mass in your mouth, see a doctor so that it may be evaluated properly.

Exam needed: I can't tell you what is going on.  You need an examination to find out what is going on.  Start by seeing a dentist asap.

Probably not: While ear pain CAN be a sign of head and neck cancer, the vast majority of patients who complain of ear pain do not have cancer. Your ENT doc can tell by looking.

Screening for cancer: Any suspicious oral lesions can be screened now at the dentist’s office with a special instrument that shines a specific light frequency to identify early stages of oral cancer

is tonsil cancer quite obvious to ents? i seen ent 4 asymmetry and also pcp. they both say not to worry. ear pain diagnosed as tmj. should i worry?

Anxiety treatment: Seeking treatment  with a psychotherapist would be a great start.  Evaluation of the underlying issues that have you obsessed with your tonsils despite reassurance from your physician may be tremendously helpful.  Additionally, Xanax (alprazolam) may not be the appropriate drug for you.

Unlikely: Cancer at your age is extremely rare, but the sooner you quit smoking the lower your risk is of getting cancer when you get older. Have your doctor check it out. Your current symptoms may be nothing worse than a virus or an ear infection.

Jaw pain: Please see doc to rule out medical issues then get health anxiety treated w/the help of a clinical psychologist.  Clinical hypnosis and self-hypnosis training (www.asch.net) can be very effective.  Peace and good health.

for months ive had fullness of the ear, pain in the ear/sinus/jaw, and have 3 large submandibular lymph nodes. us report said most prominent one is oval but over 2cm and no evident hilum. internet says it may be cancer but doc says theyre fine. why?

: By what you describe, you probably had viral or bacterial infection with reactive lymph node enlargement. The lymph nodes should regress by time, especially the big one. If it does not regress or it gets bigger, biopsy is warranted.
