when taking ear drops for an outer ear infection should i keep my head tilted and leave the drops in my ear or should i allow them to drop back out, as i've been leaving the drops in my ear and the infection hasn't showed any signs of improvement, thank y

General rule: With ear drops, you want to remain in a position with the drops settling into the ear for at least a minute before getting up. They should have time to coat the area involved at that point.Sometimes there is so much debris in the canal the drops don't reach the treatment zone.These require removal of debris and sometimes insertion of a wick that can draw the med in.Discuss with your doc

13wks pregnant. ive had an uri and a sinus/ear infection for the past two weeks. im on amoxicillin and my ear is getting much better but ive had a headache all day for days. by my ear/sinuses and the back of my head. all over. normal?

: It sounds like the normal progression of the disease which was probably a middle ear infection. Amoxicillin will indeed help sterilize the infection from the middle ear but it is not unusual for you to have those symptoms as the fluid from your middle ear begins to clear. This can sometimes take up to 4 weeks for the fluid to completely clear. If your symptoms worsen see your doctor.

Yes: Lymph glands in the posterior triangle of the neck, usually behind the ear drain infections usually from the external ear or ear canal.  They are usually firm, not larger then 0.5-1.0 cm and can be tender.

Enlarged lymph node: He may have inflammation at the nape of his neck after his ear infection, since his lymph nodes there can enlarge. If the lump enlarges after 1-2 weeks with increased redness, discharge or tenderness, it should be seen and treated for infection by his MD.

Yes: A sinus infection can cause referred pain around the eyes. Pain in the back of the head may not be related to the sinus infection, but could be related to the ear infection. Probably best to see an ear, nose, and throat specialist.

Could be serious: You need to see an ENT or neurologist to verify that nothing serious is going on. This may represent more than an ear infection. Imaging may be necessary to help figure this out.

Lymphatic fullness: When a person has an ear infection or sinusitis, the surrounding lymph nodes and lymphatic tracts fill with fluid/cells in order to mount an immune response. This can cause warmth, discomfort and slight swelling. It would be wise to have a Dr check your ears/nose for infection which can be treated with antibiotics. Saline nasal washes can also help clear the sinuses, and eustacian tubes.

Most probably: It is your sinuses, some consider middle ears as part of the sinus system, they all are connected and drain into the upper airways so any bug can affect the whole area. Need to see your doctor again, meanwhile use saline nasal washes, pain killers and decongestants if you are not hypertensive,

Pain: Pain in or around ear can be associAted with viral processes that cause swelling to lymphnodes on or near your ear.  Parotid gland infection possible. Although no eat fluid that looks infected your eustacian tube can be blocked and cause pressure and pain to ear.

After infection clea: It depends on the infection whether it is viral or bacterial and if there is residual fluid left behind the ear drum after the full course of antibiotics and reexamination by the doctor
if the infection has all clearedand there is no residual fluid behind the ear drum, your hering should return to normal gradually within 2to3 weeks.
