BPPV: Dear susan, 
when there is a spinning sensation that lasts for seconds at a time when you move your head this is often secondary to benign paroxysmal positional vertigo. This is a diagnosis that is made in the office by observing how your eye movements react to positional certain positional changes. The "crystals" are not visible on exam. Bppv can be treated in the office setting.

Maybe not bppv: If you are referring to benign positional vertigo, it always has the potential to return, it really can't be 'cured' for good.  If it has been constantly there despite treatment maybe it's another diagnosis all together.  Did an ENT diagnose you?  Make sure you have a full work up before giving up. Treating the wrong thing coil be a reson it's not working.

No: There are small calcium crystals inside of the inner ear located behind the eardrum called otoliths. These crystals can become dislodged, and every time you turn your head, the crystals shift causing momentary dizziness: a condition known as  benign paroxysmal positional vertigo. These crystals shift with movement and can clump together but do not per se "plug" up the ear canal.

Otoliths are normal: The tiny calcium crystals in the inner ear are called otoliths.  They sit in a small pouch called a utricle or saccule and move in the fluid inside the ear when you move, sending a message via "hair cells" to the vestibular nerve that helps you sense where you are.  When otoliths get stuck or slip out of the pouch, the nerve gets the wrong message and you feel dizzy.

Don't overtake Ned's: While calcium is frequently beneficial, it like all meds, need to be taken according to necessity and proper dosing. Too much of anything is bad.

Recheck with doctor: Maybe not or no longer a fungal issue. Earlobes can get eczema or seborrhea. A fungal skin infection is more likely to occur on warm, moist parts of the body such as armpits, groin, or in between toes. Candida yeast infections can occur on the skin or in the mouth or vagina. Fungi can be found on moist areas like locker room floors, so athlete's foot infections can start from contact with fungi.

relapsed on crystal meth 3mo ago and smoke 8 cigarettes a day. my neck hurts bad but i thought it was from looking down to play on phone.  i squeezed some bumps off but they come back tip and right side of tongue  hurts ear pressure bad too?

Get help fast: Most probable cause is your Meth Addiction.  You need to first get help for your addiction, that means a Mental Health Professional.  Once addiction conquered, you then see a Dentist to clean up the physical damage.  The meth will kill you.  The smoking will kill you. GET HELP!  Time for intervention.

Possible recurrence: What you describe is a possible recurrence of your bppv. Crystals are usually always present in the vestibular apparatus.
