Maybe not bppv: If you are referring to benign positional vertigo, it always has the potential to return, it really can't be 'cured' for good. If it has been constantly there despite treatment maybe it's another diagnosis all together. Did an ENT diagnose you? Make sure you have a full work up before giving up. Treating the wrong thing coil be a reson it's not working.
