Think jaw joint: Often, patients report "ear pain" when in fact the source of the pain may be the temporomandibular joint, which is immediately adjacent to the ear.  If pressure over the jaw joint and above it causes discomfort, you likely have TMJ arthralgia.  Make sure you don't grind your teeth at night, no chewing gum or hard foods, and consider Ibuprofen if it is safe for you to use, if you think you have tmj.

hi there. my chest and throat has been sore for the past few days, it gets worse when i speak. it feels heavy and my breathing also feels irregular. my mouth also feels funny and ear ache comes and goes. i am also tired all the time. please advise. ?

Sore throat: Sore throat and fatigue for two weeks. Advice is to be seen. Tonsislitis, Mono or other infection probable.

Possibilities: There are many possibilities for your issue, but let's begin with a common cause (of course, sight unseen, no med history whatsoever). Do you still have your wisdom teeth? Have you seen a dentist in the past six months for an exam? If the answer is yes and no, make an appointment with a local dentist for an exam.

See your doctor: Brain aneurysms not usually symptomatic in your age group. Needs workup for other conditions though given the eye symptoms. Many diagnoses in the differential. Detailed history and physical exam should direct the next steps in workup and treatment.

can all these be related to sinusitis? 
symptoms over 4 wks in this order: nasal congestion in winter, swollen pea sized submandibular node, 1 swollen tonsil, ear/jaw aches, sore throat that comes and goes. feel better on abx but throat swab normal?

: These symptoms may be at least partially caused by sinus secretions causing persistent postnasal dripping of mucus which can be inflaming  your throat membranes and causing some lymph gland reactive  inflammation and eustchian tube congestion leading to ear pain. Antibiotics help but may not clear up the sinusitis. What does the  otolaryngologist think of your sinuses &amp; these recurrent symptoms?

ENT doc: Depends on what is causing the pain. Could be external ear or middle ear infection. Could be TMJ or other things. See ENT doc.

Ibuprofen: Give Ibuprofen or acetaminophen. Apply warmth to ear (warm wash cloth or even your hand). May consider placing local anesthetic drops (sold over the counter). If she develops fever or pain seems to get worst take to an er.

See a Dr.: I would get in to a dr. Or better yet, see an ENT specialist who should check you ears and do a thorough history and exam.

BPPV: The fact that the spinning lasts for seconds and is probably related to position sounds like benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (bppv).  This is a disorder of the inner ear wherein loose calcium carbonate stones move and cause the inner ear balance mechanism to be activated.  Time, head exercises, or vestibular rehab by a physical therapist will help.
