started realizing i have very dry mouth 2 weeks ago started hydrating, use products  n quit smoking. dry mouth seems better but lips still sticky. why?

Dry mouth: Dry mouth can be caused by smoking,  mouth breathing because of a blocked nose and mastication so that you are on.  Chewing sugar free of xylitol gums can stimulate saliva.  See an ENT about your nose.  Keep smoke free. Avoid mouthwashes with alcohol. Hope this helps.

Suspicious bumps?: Any suspicious bumps on the tongue that does not resolve itself in 2-3 weeks, should be evaluated. See your doctor or dentist for eval.

Get checked: The most common reasons for a bitter taste include periodontal disease, tonsil associated infection, heavy  metal toxicity, and GI issues. So get checked.

It will fade: The horrible taste is a good sign. It means that the taste buds that smoking had weakened are regenerating. Try some gum or breath spray in the meantime, and congratulations on quitting!

Try in office bleach: See your MD for a definitive diagnosis. See your dentist to try to brighten your smile after smoking, perhaps it would be a great idea to bleach your teeth to try to rid your teeth of all internal staining due to smoking.

See dentist : A dentist, or hygienist can remove the stains on your teeth from smoking.  They will not go away by themselves.  So see your dentist and have your teeth cleaned and have an exam to see what is going on in your mouth.

Not long: Good job - quitting, of course! you may be experiencing withdrawal symptoms, which tend to vary a lot from person to person. Typically they last 4 weeks, can last more, but go away. Depending on how much you smoked, your 'cilia' cells in the throat or nasal passages may be waking up and working again! use sugar-free candy (causes more saliva) or gum. Stay smoke free!
