Comments: Would suggest you likely have either an upper respiratory tract infection or asthma, and this could readily be controlled.  The cough probably exacerbates the neck which triggers the headaches.  All of this could readily be addressed by your regular doctor.

Pharyngitis: Most times, acute pharyngitis (infection of the back of the throat) are caused by viruses or bacteria.  Symptoms of these infections include, but are not limited to:  1)  sore throat, 2) runny nose, 3) cough, 4) sinus pressure, 5) otalgia (ear pain), 6) fever, 7) fatigue.  Best to give it time and push the fluids!  if not improving then you need to see a medical provider!

Unlikely: Back, shoulder and neck pain are common especially for folks working on computers all day! dry cough can be from cough variant asthma, habitual cough or side effect from some blood pressure medications. Please relate your concern to all the doctors you have seen.

Go back to doctor: The doctor who prescribed some unknown medication would be in the best position to know where to go from here.  If you are still having fevers you definitely need to be reevaluated and soon.  Hope this clears up quickly.

ever since i was a kid, i have a very bad dry cough. dr. says lungs are fine etc. acts up in winter/night. vein on neck pops out. any help/remedies?

Allergies: Try getting allergy tested.  You may be allergic to something year round that is causing symptoms.  You may want to try taking delsym (dextromethorphan) at night  before you go to bed.  Good luck and feel better!

Possible viral inf: Sounds like what happens when you get a viral infection.  So long as no fever or neurological signs of problems, no lessening of mental status or function, etc. then, conservative treatment and steady as she goes.....hydration (water best), you can certainly do an anti-inflammatory such as Motrin or Naprosyn...or if you prefer smething like a couple of ES Tylenol (acetaminophen) per label instructions, REST...

Air conditioning : During the summer many people notice a cough or headaches and sinus when sleeping in air conditioning.  It could be allergies or many other things as well.  If you have an air conditioner in your bedroom it might be the effect of humidity change.

does narrowing of the cervical vertabraes c-4  thru c-7  cause neck pain & breathing problems i have like a dry cough?

Cspine : Narrowing of the cspine spaces probably implies disc compression or degeneration. Mri would provide more specific details. Symptoms definitely can include neck pain, as well as numbness or pain down an arm.  Respiratory problems such as difficuly breathing or dry cough are unlikely.
