Mouth breathing can cause your mouth and throat to dry out, causing discomfort and tooth decay as the normal balance of saliva and its antimicrobial effects is disrupted.

Dry Mouth: Without knowing if you are referring to any of the head and neck cancers where surgery may have been done, it is difficult to to connect a specific cancer with dry mouth.  Many medications, however, can cause dry mouth.  This is especially try of some of the pre medications given prior to chemotherapy administration.  I would recommend you consult an oncologist.

See a physician: Go see a physician.  Dry mouth and the need to drink a lot of water and frequent urination are 2 usual symptoms of diabetes.  However you need to be checked to be sure.
